About Us
Hi, I'm Heather, founder, curator, and the creative heart behind Vivid Hue.

It Started With a Blog
Vivid Hue began as a home décor blog in 2012, where I documented the renovation of our Connecticut home and shared my love of colorful interiors, entertaining, and finding unique pieces with character. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a community of fellow design enthusiasts and, in 2015, inspired me to take a leap of faith and open my very first boutique in an 800 square foot cottage in the historic village of Farmington, Connecticut.

Chosen, Not Stocked
Over the past decade, Vivid Hue has grown into a destination boutique with a loyal following of customers who appreciate colorful, intentional style. Like many small businesses, it has evolved over the years from home décor to a thoughtfully curated boutique featuring fashion, statement jewelry, handbags, gifts, and hostess finds. While fashion has become the heart of the business, you'll still discover the unique gifts and home accents that have been part of Vivid Hue from the very beginning.

The Right Amount of Color
I've always believed that the best spaces and the best wardrobes reflect personality. Whether I'm decorating a home or styling an outfit, I'm drawn to color, texture, and unexpected details. I love mixing colors and patterns, but I also know that not everyone wants to make a bold statement. One of my favorite parts of what I do is helping women find that perfect balance by adding just enough color and personality to feel confident while still feeling completely like themselves.
I don't buy basics. I buy conversation pieces
Whether it's the dress someone stops you to ask about, a statement necklace that transforms an outfit, or the perfect hostess gift, I love discovering pieces that feel unexpected, memorable, and a little bit special.

Southern Charm. New England Elegance.
My personal style blends classic New England elegance with colorful Southern charm. The greatest compliment I receive is when someone walks into the boutique and tells me it feels like they've been transported to Charleston, Palm Beach, or Nantucket.

Beyond the Boutique
When I'm not at the boutique, you'll usually find me traveling, decorating my home, or spending time with my beloved black lab rescue, Bradley Cooper, and my two college aged children. With my daughter now attending college in Charleston, South Carolina, I have even more reason to visit one of my favorite cities. Its colorful architecture, timeless style, and effortless Southern charm continue to inspire many of the collections you'll find at Vivid Hue.
Thank you for supporting this small business and allowing me to do what I truly love. Whether you're shopping online or visiting the boutique in West Hartford, I hope you leave feeling inspired, confident, and excited about your next great find.
